Our 1st MILESTONE was the beginning of The Comedy Factory itself. 26th August, 2011. A time when no one had even thought that there was scope for a comedy scene in Gujarat *Insert Dry State Joke*, we took the first step in bringing Standup Comedy to Gujarat. There were questions popping in from all sides and it wasn’t easy breaking people’s perception about Gujarat not having a “Stand Up” audience. Manan Desai, being the daredevil he is, got on stage for the first time as a comedian and performed for almost an hour to a jam packed room at The Offside Lounge in Baroda. The show went fine as Manan had no experience of Standup Comedy, but it was a great learning and Manan and Vidya started to build a team for The Comedy Factory from that moment onwards.
